Andhra Chicken Curry | Simple Chicken Curry | Indian Chicken Curry

Learn how to make Andhra chicken curry with this recipe. This Andhra style chicken curry is a simpler version of chicken curry with homemade garam masala and using all fresh ingredients..



Ingredients:


oil - 1/2 cup or 120 ml

Chicken (cut and washed) - 750 gms
onion (finely chopped) - 2 medium
ginger garlic paste - 2 tbsp
green chillies - 3
cloves -3
cinnamon - 1/2 inch
cumin seeds/jeera - 1 tbsp
curry leaves - few
turmeric powder - 1 tbsp
coriander powder - 1 tbsp
salt - as per taste
red chilli powder - 1 tbsp
garam masala powder - 1 tbsp
water - 1 cup

Procedure:

  1.  Heat a pan and add the oil to the pan.
  2.  Add cumin seeds,cloves,cinnamon,green chillies, chopped onions and saute till onions turn to golden brown color.
  3.  Add ginger garlic paste and saute till the raw smell is gone.
  4.  Add washed chicken and mix everything well.
  5.  Add redchilli powder, coriander powder, turmeric powder , salt and mix everything well...and cook the chicken with a closed lid on medium heat.
  6.  Keep sauting the chicken once in a while making sure it does stick in the bottom ...at this point   u can add 1 cup water if chicken does not release any water.
  7.   Repeat this process of sauting and cooking with a closed lid...till chicken is well cooked and it   leaves out oil.
  8. Add garam masala and chopped coriander leaves, mix well, saute and cook for 5 more mins.
  9. Turn off the stove


Notes :


** sometimes chicken itself leaves enough amount of water ...in that case u dont have to add additional water...chicken will get cooked with the naturally released water itself.

** ajust chillies, salt, and other masalas according to your spice levels.
